Russellville Police Patrol is made up of four shifts, two night shifts and two day shifts.  Patrol Officers work 12 hour shifts and rotate their days off.  This is done in order to give Officers time with their families.

Officers are assigned to patrol certain zones, Russellville is divided into a north and south zone.  This is done in order to spread Officers out and ensure the best overall coverage for the city.

Uniformed police officers have general law enforcement duties, including maintaining regular patrols and responding to calls for service. Much of their time is spent responding to calls and doing paperwork. They may direct traffic at the scene of an accident, investigate a burglary, or give first aid to an accident victim.
